Milla's not quite at 1k yet but I've re-settled my lineup again and stuff has been happening! Question meme!
Goes for Raven, Kotetsu, and Milla in Aather, plus Damuron and Erika in Court.

As far as the ~mistletoe kiss~! Like he said, he did enjoy it, especially the second time. Which was confusing?? He's only had brief and okay kisses in Aather, he has never made out with anyone like he intended to enjoy it, because he has never... intended to enjoy it... he's just been doing it to help people out or for games, he's not the sort of person who makes out with random people!! that sort of thing doesn't affect him!! So he's confused on both why it became that kind of kiss in the first place - why did Barnaby want it to, why did he let it, was it just the handcuff effect warm fuzzies - and why he did really enjoy it. Obviously part of the answer is that he's attracted to Barnaby (and cares about him and is close to him). But also he managed to get that far because he actually... relaxed... the handcuff effect did help get him in the right headspace for it. When Barnaby surprise kissed him as a ~test~ later it didn't really do much for him because he didn't know it was coming? So he just reacted automatically. And then Barnaby told him he was just testing something, which... okay... Bunny you're weird but if you say so.
Fortunately (ha ha) other than the test kiss he hasn't thought about that too much because of their fight immediately afterwards. HE DOES... FEEL KIND OF BAD... that his first instinct was to lie to Barnaby about the memory. But he's just so much the sort of guy who is like NO EVERYTHING IS FINE and deals with it on his own that that was his first instinct. He has acknowledged to himself that he will need to talk to Barnaby about it eventually though, since now that he's told Barnaby explicitly he doesn't want to talk about it he's probably worried, but he's sort of... postponing that indefinitely... in the way he does in canon. HE THINKS ABOUT IT SOMETIMES and tries to decide how he'll bring it up, maybe even rehearses what he's going to say in the mirror, but in the end he just sets that aside to avoid it again. He sort of hopes he will get memories back that more concretely tell him what happened before he has to talk to him about it because at this point there's not really anything Barnaby can do about it...
I don't have any real darkness battle thoughts since I played Kotetsu in it barely at all oops
Mordred's trauma game was interesting though! Especially how Barnaby dealt with him telling him he fought with Peridot. It was both helpful and not at all helpful depending on how you look at it. Barnaby was like "you can't expect everyone to be like you" and Kotetsu was like "...that's right! I'm a hero! Not everyone is a hero, it's a hard job!" So it made him feel better about going to apologize and try to get along with Peridot even if they're kind of selfish, but also... settled him a little more in the "heroes are special if I can't be a hero what can I do" mindset, because that's kind of opposed to "everyone can be a hero in their own way" which is how he lands at the end of canon! On the other hand the defining "hero" value there is at least not his power. He kind of attaches it to being a knight now but that also becomes problematic when dealing with other knights who don't act that way (he nearly actively dislikes Locke, for example). SO THAT SHOULD BE INTERESTING!
SOTU ON BARNABY?
no subject
So current thoughts on Kotetsu is that he's generally a little confused about what happened, but he does know that the kiss was pleasant, and when he did it again as a test THAT was also pleasant, and that when Kotetsu made the noise before they broke off the kiss, he wants to hear that sound again. And he knows that they're partners and obviously within that they obviously care about each other but he hasn't quite mentally connected that to liking someone. Not yet, anyway. Plus Kotetsu is complicated, with the deceased wife and child and who knows if he's interested in someone else, much less BARNABY of all people.
But he'd rather spend his time pondering about the intricacies of relationships and romance than deal with the whole issue about his messed up memories. Ever since that conversation with Dream, it's really bothered him a great deal that someone would even do such a thing, and why his body and head is reacting that way to the memories. He's lost a lot of sleep thinking about it, and has thought about possibly talking to Kotetsu about it but it's really not going to help matters much. If he can't find a solution himself, there's no way Kotetsu will.
And also he's trying really hard not to think about his secret but the longer Kotetsu doesn't tell him about it, the more antsy he gets about what it could possibly be. :|a He's trying really hard to respect his privacy, but sooner or later Barnaby is just going to ask him again about it.
So talk to me about Milla and Heliodor. It sounds like she's a very decent fit for the team... and what's this murderpact???
no subject
She is genuinely both a good fit and a really interesting fit on Heliodor though. She shares a lot of traits that other parts of the team have (stubbornness, standoffishness, disregard for social norms...) but also contrasts them in ways that might push them interestingly (she's not self-interested at all, she genuinely wants to work for the greater good) while still being accepting enough of different opinions that she's not going to be... overly self-righteous about it, or have that drive a wedge between her and the rest of the team. And she is used to dealing with difficult people. (Alvin.) And it's not going to bother her if the team is not supportive and cuddly, because she doesn't mind doing things on her own!
I really like her with the team so far! She's been very cute with them in games, and even murder pact with Sion & Jason is great as far as team development goes because they're not. . . actually going to murder each other. Not that they wouldn't, I think both Sion and Milla absolutely would if it actually came down to a conflict like that, but that's not how Aather is set up, so it won't! So instead it's just... really great to me that they all... established exactly how stubborn and dedicated they are. There is no confusion. And now they can build on that.
I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO IT A LOT.
How is Aladdin doing with Sapphire?
no subject
He gets along best with Apple because she's been the most informative, offering to show him things and being sort of a mother hen to his antics. And Selenia is like the stern dad? Mau is the cool uncle? Candy being the bratty older brother. |D It's very much like a family he's never had.
I want him to branch out and talk to more people outside of Sapphire. He's had some random encounters that were fun but I need to follow up on those.
What are your plans for Raven now that he's back?
no subject
Iiiii would still like him to get more involved in wider large-impact things, but I was bad at that even when he was my active plot character, and now I have Milla who is better at that! I'm kind of in a bad place right now where he only has a very small amount of CR with traction, but he's also... bad at making new CR at more than just a surface level... since he fronts a lot, and also now he has the barrier of being the old guy. Half his conversations are about him having been around forever and the other half are about ~romance~ because that's his "safe" topic of choice. But I don't know how to break him out of that without outside influence, soooooo I'm still trying to figure something out. I should really read old threads to Aather-canon-review all the stuff he had going on. And make new icons.
I do definitely want to play with his team more though '^' I hope to break through some real relationships with new teammates.
Tell me about your dreams for Barnaby getting back memory wipe memories!
no subject
Barnaby gets a few more memories that either cause partial blackout or headaches, enough to the point where he actually goes and confronts Dream about it and try to arrange some sort of a way to fix it. But before that happens, he gets the memory of forgetting Kotetsu and all is well except... you know, he forgets Kotetsu, assumes he's a new knight that's stalking him. :\
There's a plan then for some sort of memory dive/heart game and people need to go and find key memorabilia that connect Kotetsu with Barnaby, and maybe some Maverick confrontation happens, and then the memories unlock and he's relatively back to normal except then he knows his entire life was a lie and he's been manipulated since day one. :(
So Kotetsu now knows Barnaby has Hundred Power... how is he feeling about that?

Before the game she was pretty nnnnneutral? On him. She doesn't really pay attention to subtle indicators or social cues and he was pretty evenly pleasant/interested in her. Then in the game! Their conversation in the first round was interesting when he said he wasn't trying to convince her of anything, just trying to make his own decision, because Milla is very big on that. People all making their own choices! And then being prepared to deal with the consequences. The later rounds where he was angry/fighting her were even more interesting because she appreciated his willpower! Even if she still looked down on him + paranoidly thought it was all part of a plot to stop her. That makes her generally more positive on him, actually. She really doesn't understand the "Heliodor is most important" outlook though.
Then after the game it got tempered a little because he was more... mild again, not trying to push back at her really and just being vaguely interested! So she is a bit like "hmm how much of that was the game's influence?" She still likes him like that, he's pleasant enough to talk to. But she'll be interested to see how things go.
Basically Milla likes people generally unless (and sometimes even if) they're actively threatening the world, so...
Reverse!!

#2 thinks she's an obstacle and while she's part of the team he basically is setting internal limits on when he thinks she should be eliminated.
#1 thinks that she's really troubling but wouldn't be willing to get rid of her. He's a little concerned that the team will fracture around her and he feels once a team fractures it's irrepairable (esp if it fractures over ego/will). He has a lot of thoughts aabbbouuttt her? But they're more like "how will she react/how can I make her do things/or can I not" than actual people... thoughts...
He wants to get to know her to better predict her. . . basically. . .
How does Kotetsu feel about being older than a lot of people in Aather. . .
no subject
He's not bothered by working with kids, particularly, since obviously some of the other heroes are teenage-ish (Blue Rose, Dragon Kid, Origami Cyclone) but the part he's sort of sensitive too is that there's... very nearly literally no one... who is actually anywhere close to his age. Back home there were at least others! So he feels pretty old. Especially in games like kissing games where he's like. Welp. Late-30s widower here I'll just be over in a corner, this isn't my game. (unsure)
THAT IS PART OF WHY HE PLANNED THE ADULT PARTY to have only adults around for once, only it didn't... actually help that much... since there are still way more people in the just-over-20 bracket than there are at his age oops.
General Aather Akashi vs. Canon Akashi differences? I DON'T KNOW BASUKE EXCEPT FROM OSMOSIS and haven't been paying attention, so. With that context.
no subject
Canon Akashi is the basuke antagonist!!! He showed up a lot to say cryptic or threatening things or almost stab Kagami in the face with scissors. He says things like I'll kill anyone who gets in my way, even if they're my parents. And also stuff like. I won't let go until all of you are dead. This is mostly his second personality who makes these kind of statements (uses 'boku' in Japanese for 'I'). The other personality uses 'ore' and is less . . . psychotic. That's the personality in control in middle school. He's still pretty . . . egotistical/egocentric but less psychotic and more adaptable. Uhhh. I realize this is kind of a mess lol.
In Aather, obvs, he is mostly the #1/ore personality. He does switch every now and then but the way that the personalities swap can be really subtle. It mostly has to do with priorities and they don't have HUGE differences in speech unless there's a point of conflict (like during the game LOL).
The major difference is the goal for the personalities. In canon it's "victory" but a lot of WHO Akashi is . . . is defined by victory. His father flat out is like if u cant win ur not an Akashi. And his #1 personality pretty much wigs out about it and that's what forces the switch -- where the #2 personality becomes the main driver of the bus.
In Aather his priority is Heliodor . . . so he has less of the same issues. But it can still be pushed and -- he's not as solid on it. While he decided to define himself by Heliodor more firmly during the game it's a more ambiguous concept so he's working on it.
Tell me about why Milla is great in ToX -- spoilers are okay!

Also until her thread with Togami she hadn't discovered any of her well-paying objectives so she wasn't making very great progress which is depressing too. SHE WILL ACTUALLY PROBABLY BE SLIGHTLY MORE POSITIVE AFTER THIS THREAD WITH TOGAMI depending on how the rest of it plays out, but right now she's super pleased with it. Good job Court for enabling this it was fun. And lucrative.
I WANT TOGAMI COURT THOUGHTS but if you want to wait until the rest of the thread plays out then tell me how Mary is doing in Court.
no subject
I HAVE A LOT OF DERE THOUGHTS ABOUT TOGAMI IN COURT; this thread especially will completely alter his perspective for the rest of his time there (in a good way! because that's the kind of stuff I wanted to play with!) He is hardcore forced to accept the reality that succeeding in this setting will involve doing things he actively dislikes (except he doesn't actually actively dislike them so much because of brainwashing and HHHHHHH). And he will probably have a minor breakdown afterwards of the sort that canon never quite managed even with [every spoiler in canon] lol. But despite me itching to do things with it and talk about it I will probably wait until the thread is done for the FULL PICTURE yeah :U!!! still ///////// I'll have to be careful to not be too terrible to him for a while after this so that he remains playable, but uhuhu
um so Mary is a lot more straightforward although she has conflicting feelings. For one thing I deliberately took her from basically her brattiest moment that's ever shown on-screen, because 1) that's the only way I could see her accepting an offer like Court, 2) she would be super bratty upon getting there and I wouldn't have to play a whole intropost of being manipulative-nice which is much harder to play than honest brattiness. So she's only gradually recovering from being super immature, and yet she still thinks she DESERVES to be immature because none of her problems are being solved and NOW she has EVEN MORE problems and it's very frustrating and she has no closure!!! Which is pretty miniscule on the scale of problems people have in Court particularly since her problems are all. immature, but. FOR EXAMPLE, one of the things that made her super bratty in the canonpoint she came from was Nikolas showing her up and people actually agreeing with his ideas and acknowledging him as a leader/politician (because he has had character development by that point). So she's like OMFG IF PEOPLE NOW DISLIKE ME EVEN MORE THAN NIKOLAS WHO I THOUGHT WE ALL AGREED WAS TRASH, I, THAT'S NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! But in flouncing to Court she ran into Nikolas again ANYWAY and then saw him happy in a relationship with his love and with lots of friends who weren't about to sympathize with her and!!! THAT SURE ISN'T HELPING THE PROBLEMS I HAD
so she's super bitter about all the problems she had not magically disappearing + now she has to live like a poor person in Court + SOFIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ISN'T HEREEEEEEEEEEE (Sofia being the woman she's in denial of being in love with). But at the same time she's learned about people who would be dead if they weren't in Court, and about Winter who is from the future of her canonpoint and HOLY SHIT WINTER??? and she feels, frankly, really stupid for coming here in comparison to everyone else. And she's also grudgingly learning how to live under (relatively) impoverished conditions, and half-getting along with Nikolas, etc. So she's growing as a person and in a lot of ways it's not bad here. But it's definitely not the cushy spoiled life she had before, and also it's a good thing we have a Sofia apper, since otherwise she would be legitimately depressed/empty inside being stuck inside of Court for INDEFINITE YEARS!!! without seeing her. She's kind of at the point where even if she's not actively suffering/she's made internal progress, her reflexive reaction is still to complain about how awful things are and then people are like "it's not that awful???" and she's kind of like YEAH... I'VE HAD THIS CONVERSATION A FEW TIMES BEFORE SO I'M NOT SURE WHY I COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS AGAIN... IT JUST KINDA HAPPENED............ so she still needs to learn how to surmount. a lot of things. She's the kind of person who needs constant validation and isn't getting it because lol no one cares if she's the Great Oldhill here and also she won't admit that half of her problem is because she's heartsick, so. LEARN TO NORMAL PERSON WHO DOES THINGS AND DOESN'T GET A COOKIE FOR IT
I want to know more about Milla... what is the spoilerfree summary of Milla and why you wanted to play her... have I asked you this before. maybe. I don't remember.
